Adebayo Urges Nigerians to Participate in 2027 Elections

Adebayo, the former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), addressed Nigerians on Wednesday, urging them not to boycott the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking on EAGLE 102.5 FM in Ijebu, he condemned calls for a boycott and stressed that active participation in elections is crucial for ensuring accountability in governance.

Adebayo highlighted that disengaging from the electoral process would only strengthen entrenched political interests and allow politicians to evade scrutiny regarding their performance. He emphasized that democracy requires active citizen involvement and that voting is a civic responsibility.

Adebayo criticized the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu and state governments for failing to deliver on promises in key areas such as security, employment, economic growth, and anti-corruption efforts. He argued that meaningful political change necessitates collective participation and deliberate efforts to replace ineffective leadership.
