FAAN Engages Cargo Agents to Boost Air Cargo Efficiency

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) conducted a stakeholder engagement meeting with cargo agents at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. The meeting, themed "Strategic Engagement Session," aimed to develop an operational framework to foster transparency and inclusivity in the global cargo system.

Mr. Lekan Thomas, Director of Cargo Development Services, and Mr.

Alao Mamman, General Manager of Cargo, emphasized the need for stronger stakeholder collaboration to realize the cargo village project. They noted that the initiative would enhance operational efficiency and streamline cargo handling processes while ensuring compliance with international best practices and global standards.

Jai Etim, General Manager of Cargo Partnership, presented key focus areas, including the development of an aviation cargo village and the establishment of an integrated cargo logistics hub that co-locates cargo stakeholders. The meeting underscored the critical role of licensed agents within the evolving cargo ecosystem and the necessity of regulatory compliance.
