FAAN Launches Cashless Payment Solution at Nigerian Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) partnered with Paystack to introduce a cashless payment solution, "Operation Go Cashless," at Nigerian airports starting from September 29, 2025. The initiative aims to eliminate cash transactions at airports nationwide, beginning at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Passengers and airport users can now make payments at various points, including airport access gates, car parks, and VIP lounges, using secure contactless payment options. FAAN highlighted that the cashless policy enhances efficiency, revenue assurance, and customer experience, aligning Nigerian airports with global digital payment trends.

Trained brand ambassadors and payment terminals have been deployed to guide passengers in using the new system.
