FAAN Confirms No Fire at Lagos Airport, Operations Resume

Normal flight operations resumed at Terminal 2 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos following a fire scare. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) clarified that there was no fire incident, despite initial reports suggesting otherwise.

FAAN's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, stated that preliminary findings indicated the smoke observed was due to the discharge of the FM-200 fire suppression system. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the system's activation.

FAAN assured that there were no casualties and that the situation was under control, allowing passengers and airlines to continue their activities without disruption. The authority emphasized its commitment to safety and thanked all stakeholders for their cooperation during the incident.
