Nwabueze Defends Legitimacy of Made in Nigeria Project

George Nwabueze, the National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, has rejected allegations from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that he operates a fake government agency. Nwabueze asserts that his office functions under the supervision of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and has been associated with it since July 16, 2010.

In response to the ICPC's announcement that President Bola Tinubu ordered his arrest, Nwabueze produced documents, including an appointment letter dated October 3, 2025, signed by Nadungu Gagare, Permanent Secretary in the Political and Economic Affairs Office of the OSGF. The letter confirms his appointment for five years starting July 2025, with responsibilities including overseeing programs, coordinating policies, and organizing exhibitions.

Nwabueze questions the sudden classification of his office as fake after years of operation.
