ICPC Names 13 Officials in PFIPC Investigation Report

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has identified 13 public officials in its interim report concerning the activities of the unauthorized Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). This report was submitted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on August 6, following his directive for an investigation into the agency's operations.

The officials named include Joshua Kadiri Luka, Director of the Consolidated Accounts Department in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, and others from various government offices. The ICPC recommended administrative actions against these officials for negligence that may have allowed the PFIPC to operate without legal authority.

Additionally, the commission has recommended the prosecution of Adeniyi Adeyemi, identified as the promoter of the PFIPC, for forgery, impersonation, and other offenses. The investigation revealed that the PFIPC had forged documents and exploited weaknesses in verification procedures, although no federal funds were disbursed to the agency.
