Police Explain Failure to Produce Fake Council Director

On Wednesday, during an investigative hearing in Abuja, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu provided an explanation for the Nigeria Police Force's failure to produce Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), before the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee. The committee had previously directed the police to present Adeyemi following testimonies from various government institutions distancing themselves from the council.

Represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police Olufemi Akinola, the police stated they could not comply due to a valid order from the Federal High Court, which legally binds them. Akinola emphasized the police's commitment to cooperating with the National Assembly while operating within legal constraints.

House Ad Hoc Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi accepted this explanation and indicated that the committee would initiate the process to obtain a production warrant to facilitate Adeyemi's appearance.
