Police Explain Adeniyi's Absence Before House Committee

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, provided an explanation for the absence of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the alleged self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), before the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee. This explanation was communicated through an official letter read by the committee's Chairman, Hon.

Yusuf Gagdi, during a session on Wednesday. The police indicated that Adeniyi is currently in custody as part of an ongoing criminal investigation concerning allegations of conspiracy and forgery, and his detention is supported by a valid court order.

Gagdi emphasized that the committee aims to clarify the situation to prevent misconceptions regarding Adeniyi's failure to appear. He reiterated the committee's respect for the principle of separation of powers and confirmed that they would not interfere with the investigation.

The committee will maintain communication with law enforcement agencies involved in the case to receive updates as necessary.
