Reps Order Police to Produce Fake PFIPC DG Adeyemi

The House of Representatives Committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has mandated Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu to present Adeyemi Martin, the alleged Director-General of the purported fake agency, before the committee on Wednesday at 12 noon. This order was issued on Monday following confirmations from the Nigeria Police Force regarding ongoing criminal investigations, which include petitions from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.

These petitions accuse Adeyemi of fraudulently claiming to be the director-general of both the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the PFIPC. Committee Chairman Rep Yusuf Gagdi emphasized the necessity of Adeyemi's appearance due to the serious nature of the allegations and their potential impact on individuals and government institutions.

The committee also instructed its clerk to formally communicate with the Inspector-General of Police. An assistant commissioner of police, Basir Abdullahi, indicated that while investigations are ongoing, an eight-count charge has already been filed against Adeyemi in the Federal High Court.
