Police Explain Inability to Produce Adeyemi Before Committee

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, clarified that the Nigeria Police Force could not present Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-styled Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, before the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Wednesday. The committee, led by Yusuf Gagdi, had instructed the IGP to produce Adeyemi following testimonies from various government institutions distancing themselves from the purported council.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Akinola, represented the IGP and stated that Adeyemi was being held under a valid order from the Federal High Court, necessitating a production warrant for compliance with the committee's request. Gagdi accepted this explanation and assured that the committee would seek the necessary legal order to facilitate the police's compliance.

The ad hoc committee was formed to investigate the activities of the alleged council, which reportedly operated without legal backing.
