Trump Accuses CNN of Misinformation on Iran Ceasefire

Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, accused CNN of broadcasting false statements regarding a ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran. He claimed that CNN misrepresented a statement attributed to Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and alleged that the report suggested Iran forced the U.S. to accept a 10-point proposal.

Trump made these allegations on his social media platform, Truth Social, without naming the Nigerian news outlet he referenced. He called for CNN to withdraw the report and suggested an investigation into whether the report constituted a criminal offense.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abba Araghchi confirmed that Iran would suspend defensive operations against the U.S. and Israel. Brendan Carr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), warned that media organizations failing to act in the public interest risk losing their licenses.

CNN defended its report, stating that it was based on multiple Iranian state media sources.
