Community Honors Late Philanthropist Chief Omikunle

Family members and friends gathered on Saturday in Igbajo, Osun State, to pay their last respects to Chief Babatunde Omikunle, a notable philanthropist and community leader, who was laid to rest following his death on March 6, 2026, at the age of 71. The funeral service took place at the First Baptist Church in Igbajo and attracted attendees from across the country, reflecting the impact of Omikunle's life and service.

Rev. Israel Akanji, representing the Nigerian Baptist Convention, delivered a sermon titled "Don't Let Life Grant You Expiry Date," emphasizing the inevitability of death and the legacy left behind by Omikunle.

Akanji described him as a great philanthropist and peacemaker, urging attendees to maintain their faith and relationship with God. The Modern Igbajo Development League also eulogized Omikunle, highlighting his courage and leadership within the community.

He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
