Fresh Attacks in Plateau State Kill Two and 21 Cattle

On a recent Monday, Plateau State experienced two violent attacks targeting herders. The first incident occurred around 1 PM when gunmen ambushed herders near Gero in the Jos South Local Government Area, resulting in the death of 21 cattle.

The second attack took place at approximately 7:20 PM in Kyeng Village, Bachi District, Riyom LGA, where two individuals, Peter Dung, aged 22, and Amo Bele, aged 19, were shot dead. Rwang Tengwong, representing the Berom Youth Moulder Association, condemned the killings, describing the attacks as barbaric and inhuman.

He urged security agencies to take immediate action to ensure justice and prevent further violence against native communities in Plateau State. Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association Nigeria, confirmed that the attacks occurred while herders were grazing their cattle peacefully.

The violence highlights ongoing security concerns in the region, particularly clashes between armed groups and farmers.
