Fresh Attacks in Plateau State Leave Farmers and Herders Dead

In Plateau State, Nigeria, recent attacks in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas have led to the deaths of at least four individuals, comprising three farmers and a herder. The incidents occurred on Sunday night and Monday morning, coinciding with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visit to the state.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) confirmed the fatalities, including a herder who was ambushed alongside his younger brother. The attacks targeted vigilant youth guarding the community, resulting in injuries to one individual who is currently receiving treatment.

Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the national president of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, condemned the attacks and called for an investigation. MACBAN chairman Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo confirmed the herder's death and urged community members to remain vigilant.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is reportedly conducting operations in the area to ensure safety.
