28 Killed in Plateau State Attack Following Presidential Visit

In a recent violent incident in Plateau State, 28 people were killed, including farmers and herders, following an attack that coincided with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visit to the state. The attacks occurred in Anguwan Rukuba, Jo North LGA, and Pwomol Village in Heipang District, Barkin Ladi LGA.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) confirmed the fatalities, with the Berom community accusing Fulani groups of targeting their members. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the national president of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, condemned the attacks and urged security agencies to conduct thorough investigations.

He emphasized the need for vigilance in the area. Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the state chairman of MACBAN, confirmed the deaths of his members and denied knowledge of any attacks against the Fulani community.

The violence has raised concerns about security and the need for community protection amidst ongoing tensions between farmers and herders.
