LifeMile Project Fosters Peace Between Farmers and Herders

The LifeMile project, implemented by the Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (CRUDAN) with support from Tetra Tech, has successfully concluded in Kaduna, promoting peace between farmers and herders. The project focused on strengthening resilience, improving farm security, and fostering dialogue among communities in Kpuyai, Chenchuk, Mifi, and Attakar within the Zango Kataf and Kaura Local Government Areas.

Mr. Joseph Gyand, the Executive Director of CRUDAN, commended stakeholders for their support, emphasizing the project's holistic approach to peacebuilding, which combined agricultural practices with conflict resolution strategies.

Mr. Hosea Daniel, representing the Zango Kataf Local Government Chairman, noted the project's significant contribution to social cohesion.

Beneficiaries, including farmers and herders, reported improved crop protection and reduced conflicts through initiatives like the live fence method. The project also empowered youth, with Miss Grace Luka highlighting their role in promoting dialogue and conflict resolution.

Stakeholders expressed appreciation for the project's achievements and emphasized the need to sustain its momentum for lasting peace in the region.
