Widow Locked Out by In-Laws After Husband's Death

Tosin, a 28-year-old widow, is experiencing threats and intimidation from her late husband's family only eight days after his death on July 20, 2026. Activist Harrison Gwamnishu shared a video on social media showing Tosin's father-in-law padlocking her out of their home at No. 8 Jumofak, Igbo Oluwo Estate, Koya Adeniran, Ikorodu.

Gwamnishu claims that the family is attempting to dispossess Tosin of her late husband's property, despite her having two young children. He stated that the family has already begun distributing the deceased's belongings and plans to sell his car.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has intervened, confirming they contacted Tosin, who reported threats to her life and physical assault. The agency is working with the Owutu Police Division on the case, emphasizing the need for protection for Tosin and her children from further intimidation and unlawful dispossession.
