Man Kills Wife with Machete in Ekiti Dispute

Ibrahim Sodiq has been accused of macheting his 25-year-old wife, Kehinde Onizeokaraga, to death during a marital disagreement in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Wednesday. The couple, originally from Kogi State, had been facing domestic challenges, leading to the fatal confrontation.

They were at the residence of Lamidi, a friend of Kehinde’s father, who was mediating their issues. The disagreement escalated into violence, resulting in Sodiq allegedly attacking Kehinde with a machete, causing injuries that led to her death.

Following the incident, Sodiq fled the scene, and Kehinde's remains were taken to a morgue. Kehinde's cousin, Lawrence Yusuf, stated that she had been planning to leave the marriage due to suspicions about Sodiq's activities.

Yusuf also mentioned that several individuals, including Lamidi and others involved in the mediation, were taken into police custody while Sodiq remained at large. The family is seeking justice for Kehinde and has urged the police to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect.
