FCT Police Command Orders DPOs to Combat Crime in Two Weeks

Ahmad Sanusi, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has instructed 17 Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to eradicate robbery and related criminal activities within the city center in a two-week timeframe. This directive was issued during a meeting on Friday aimed at reviewing the prevailing security situation and strengthening operational strategies across the command.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, noted concerns over the increase in traffic robberies, vehicle snatching at gunpoint, and reckless driving. Sanusi emphasized the importance of prioritizing security operations in the city center and warned DPOs against negligence in their supervisory roles.

He urged residents to support police operations by providing credible information to the nearest police division. Additionally, the FCT Police Command has intensified efforts to tackle crime, particularly focusing on robbery and kidnapping, as evidenced by a recent operation in the Byazhin area on June 9, which resulted in the rescue of five kidnapping victims and the neutralization of two suspects.
