APC's Joshua Ishaku Wins Bwari Chairmanship Election

In the Bwari chairmanship election held on February 21, 2026, Hon. Joshua Ishaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious, securing a total of 18,466 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results on Sunday morning, with Prof. Moham Nurudeen declaring Ishaku the winner after confirming he met all legal requirements.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate received 4,254 votes, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate garnered 3,515 votes, placing second and third respectively. The election was conducted across 10 wards in the Bwari area council, which includes names such as Igu Shere, Duts, Ushafa, Byazhin, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Bwari Central, and Kawu.
