FCT Police Launch Mental Health Assessment for Officers

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police (CP) AHM Sanusi, has commenced a comprehensive medical assessment exercise for its officers. This initiative, observed at the Maitama area command, aims to evaluate the mental health and stress levels of personnel across the territory.

CP Sanusi stated that the exercise is designed to improve officer performance and will involve routine checks. Medical evaluations will cover various aspects of the officers' health, with the intention of ensuring their well-being.

The CP emphasized that the assessments are not punitive and urged officers not to panic about the outcomes. He also warned against disclosing medical reports.

The first phase of the assessment will conclude next month, after which officers will be assembled again for follow-up screenings.
