FCT Police Commemorates International Youth Day 2026

On Saturday, the FCT Police Command marked International Youth Day 2026 with a Police–Youth Dialogue on Security at Garki Primary School, Lagos Street, Abuja, under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.” Senior officers from the FCT Police Command, His Royal Highness, the Sa’peyi of Garki, Alhaji Dr Usman Nga Kupi, members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), representatives of POCACOV, community members, and other stakeholders attended the event. The Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of young Nigerians in national development and security, urging them to be productive and law-abiding.

He warned against drug abuse and criminality, encapsulating his message with the phrases: “Death before dishonour; Service before self; Nigeria first.” The CP appointed Mr Joshua Chukwuma, aka MC Miti, and Mr Dantani Tanko as Police–Youth Ambassadors, charging them to promote dialogue and discourage crime. The Sa’peyi of Garki cautioned against drug abuse and political violence, urging youths to engage in productive activities.

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with youths to promote peace and responsible citizenship.
