Nigeria Police to Host IYD 2026 Youth Leadership Event

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is set to host the International Youth Day (IYD) 2026 programme from August 20 to 22, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Jabi, Abuja, with activities across Zonal and State Commands nationwide. The event, themed ‘Different Contexts, Common Aspirations’, aligns with the United Nations International Youth Day theme and aims to promote youth leadership, responsible citizenship, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital responsibility, and peaceful democratic participation.

CSP Anietie Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, announced that the three-day programme will include youth leadership dialogues, moderated Police–Youth engagement sessions, panel discussions, innovation showcases, a peace walkathon, sporting activities, and a national tree planting initiative titled “Plant Peace. Grow Nigeria.

Secure the Future.” Additionally, two nationwide reorientation campaigns will be launched: ‘My Future Is Greater Than Political and Digital Thuggery’ and ‘Think Before You Click. Verify Before You Share.’ The NPF invites various stakeholders to participate and support this initiative.
