PDP Candidate Dantani Withdraws for APC's Maikalangu

Zadna Dantani, the chairmanship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Abuja Municipal Area Council elections, has voluntarily withdrawn his candidacy to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Christoph Maikalangu. Dantani made this decision on Thursday, following the intervention of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

He submitted a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to formalize his withdrawal. In his statement, Dantani expressed gratitude for the support he received and emphasized that his decision was made in the interest of unity and good governance, aligning with the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He called for collective support for Maikalangu in the upcoming elections scheduled for February 21, 2026. Dantani's withdrawal reflects a strategic move within the political landscape of the FCT, aiming to consolidate support for the APC candidate.
