FCT Elections: Vehicle Operators Defy Movement Restrictions

During the elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commercial vehicle operators and Okada riders defied a movement restriction order. Reports from various areas across the FCT, including Airport Road, Jikwoyi, Nyanya, Kuje, and Gwagwalada, indicated that commercial vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles were operating freely without barricades.

However, in the Kubwa and Nyanya highways, security agents were seen blocking roads. By 8:26 AM, five voters had arrived at a polling center, with two being political party agents.

Mr. Andrew Jame reported that at his polling unit, voting had not commenced by 7:00 AM due to the absence of INEC officials.

Additionally, six polling units at the Aleyita community's primary school had not started voting. By 8:33 AM, INEC officials were observed briefing party agents at the Pilot Science Primary School in Kwali, indicating ongoing preparations for the electoral process.
