FCTA Offers 200 Free Health Insurance Slots to Journalists

On Tuesday in Abuja, Dr. Adedolapo Fasaw, the FCTA Health Mandate Secretary, announced the offering of 150 free health insurance slots to members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council.

This initiative aims to expand access to affordable healthcare and promote universal health coverage in the Federal Capital Territory. Dr.

Babagana Adam pledged to sponsor an additional 50 slots in memory of his late brother, Moham Alkali, a former head of the Press and Public Relations Unit at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The total of 200 free health insurance enrollments is expected to attract further support from stakeholders.

Dr. Fasaw emphasized the importance of health insurance in improving healthcare access and noted the financial constraints that often hinder residents from seeking medical help.

The scheme guarantees enrollees access to free healthcare services at accredited facilities upon payment of an annual premium of N22,500, covering various medical services.
