NUJ FCT Receives 200 Free Health Insurance Slots

On Tuesday in Abuja, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council was granted 200 free health insurance slots by Dr. Adedolapo Fasaw, the Permanent Secretary of the FCT Health Services Secretariat, and Dr.

Babagana Adam, who pledged to sponsor an additional 50 members in memory of his late brother, Mohd Alkali. This initiative aims to expand affordable healthcare access and promote universal health coverage in the Federal Capital Territory.

Dr. Fasaw emphasized the importance of health insurance in preventing and curing health issues, noting that the scheme would provide access to free healthcare services upon payment of an annual premium of N22,500.

The scheme is designed to address the financial constraints that often hinder residents from seeking medical care. Comrade Grace Ik, the NUJ FCT Council Chairman, commended the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve the welfare of journalists and ensure that no one is left behind in accessing healthcare.
