Kwara United Awaits N50M Prize Money After Fed Cup Win

Kwara United, the defending champions of the Fed Cup, are still waiting to receive the N50 million prize money promised for their victory in the 2025 competition. Despite their success, the club has not received any financial reward, and there has been no communication from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding the outstanding payment.

Sources close to the club indicated that the lack of payment has caused frustration among players and management. In the current competition, Ikorodu City and El Kanemi Warriors have reached the men's final, scheduled for July 11 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Ikorodu City advanced after defeating Nasarawa United 4-2 on penalties, while El Kanemi Warriors secured their place by beating Wikki Tourists 3-1 in the semi-finals. In the women's competition, Heartland Queens will face Nasarawa Amazons in the final after both teams won their respective semi-final matches.
