Nigerian Government Denies Scrapping UTME, Affirms JAMB's Role

The Nigerian Federal Government has denied rumors of scrapping the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), clarifying that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) remains the authorized body for tertiary admissions in Nigeria. The Ministry of Education spokesperson, Boriowo Folashade, reiterated the government's commitment to a transparent and merit-based admission process.

Dr. Tunji Alausa reaffirmed the importance of JAMB in ensuring fair access to tertiary education.
