Federal High Court Announces Easter Vacation Dates 2026

The Federal High Court of Nigeria has officially announced its Easter vacation period, which will take place from April 7 to April 13, 2026. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday and signed by Dr.

Catherine Christoph, the Director of Information for the court. The decision follows the provisions of Order 46 Rule 4 of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2019, as amended, and has been approved by the Chief Judge, John Terhemba Tsoho.

Normal court sessions are set to resume on April 14, 2026. However, core judicial divisions located in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu will remain operational during the vacation period to handle matters of extreme urgency.

The statement emphasized that cases related to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest, and the release of vessels concerning dire national interest will be entertained during this time. Specific judges have been designated to handle urgent matters in their respective divisions.
