FG Declares Public Holidays for Easter Celebration 2026

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, will be observed as public holidays in celebration of Easter. This declaration was made on Wednesday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

He extended congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora, emphasizing the joyous occasion of Easter. Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to embrace virtues such as selflessness, forgiveness, and love, which are exemplified in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
