FG Declares Easter Holidays from April 3-6, 2026

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared public holidays from Friday, April 3rd to Monday, April 6th, 2026, in observance of Easter celebrations. This announcement was made by Dr.

Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the Honourable Minister of Interior, on behalf of the Federal Government. The declaration was communicated through a press release signed by Dr.

Magdalen Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on Tuesday. In the statement, Dr.

Tunji Ojo extended congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora, emphasizing the joyous occasion of Easter. He urged Nigerians to embody virtues such as selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, which are exemplified in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The Minister highlighted the importance of tolerance and community values as essential for Nigeria's unity and progress. He reiterated the government's commitment to national growth and economic rebirth, wishing all Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
