FERMA Urges Nigerians to Maintain Federal Roads Properly

The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has called on road users throughout Nigeria to take responsibility for the maintenance of federal roads in their areas. On Wednesday, Director Franci Isabiyi made this appeal during a site assessment of major road failures along the Saki-Ago road.

He expressed concern over the attitude of motorists and road users, noting that approximately 80% of road failures are due to human activities, such as spilling diesel and digging holes in the roads. Isabiyi emphasized that the federal government invests significant resources in road maintenance, and it is crucial for residents to respect these roads as public property.

He urged the community to report any individuals engaging in destructive behaviors that compromise road integrity, highlighting the role of well-maintained roads in supporting the socio-economic growth of the country.
