KASU Staff Demand Equity in FGN Agreement Implementation

On September 14, 2026, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) at Kaduna State University (KASU) held an executive meeting to address the proposed selective implementation of a newly negotiated Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) agreement. The JAC, led by Acting Chairman Comrade Aliyu Garba and Secretary Comrade Dahiru Musa, rejected the proposal to limit benefits to academic staff, deeming it unacceptable and unfair to non-academic workers who contribute significantly to the university's operations.

The committee called for an inclusive approach, stating that all universities implementing the FGN agreements have done so equitably across all unions. They emphasized that KASU's effectiveness relies on the contributions of both academic and non-academic staff and urged the Kaduna State Government to ensure fairness and equity in the agreement's implementation to maintain industrial harmony and support the institution's development.
