Kaduna State University Unions Demand Equal FGN Agreement Implementation

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) at Kaduna State University (KASU) has rejected the proposed selective implementation of the newly negotiated Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) agreements for academic staff. In a statement signed by acting chairman Comrade Aliyu Garba and secretary Comrade Dahiru Musa, JAC expressed that excluding non-academic staff from the agreements would be unfair and could undermine industrial harmony.

The committee emphasized that other universities implementing the FGN agreement did so inclusively for all recognized unions. JAC urged the Kaduna State government to adopt an inclusive approach that acknowledges the contributions of both academic and non-academic staff, asserting that the university operates as a collective enterprise.

The committee demanded fairness and equal treatment for all unions in the implementation of the FGN/University-based Unions Agreements at KASU.
