FG Approves Bodo-Bonny Road Dualization Project

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the dualization of the Bodo-Bonny Road to connect with the East-West Road, a significant transportation artery in the South-South region. Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced this during a project tour over the weekend.

President Bola Tinubu has given the go-ahead for this project, which is crucial for improving transport links between Bonny Island and the mainland. The road spans 37.9 kilometers and will include the installation of solar lights and tree planting to enhance its aesthetics.

Umahi stated that the dualization will be executed by GRB Construct, with a completion timeline of eight months. He emphasized the need for public safety during the construction, particularly due to the presence of heavy trucks on the road.

Additionally, he noted that the project will address waterlogging issues and reinforce the road to handle heavy traffic. Chioma Nweze, Senior Special Assistant to the President, urged support for Tinubu's administration in delivering democratic dividends.
