FG Approves Bodo-Bonny Road Dualization Project

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the dualization of the Bodo-Bonny link to the East-West Road, a significant infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation in the South-South region. Minister of Works, David Umahi, disclosed this during a tour of the project site over the weekend.

President Bola Tinubu has given the go-ahead for the project, which is considered a major artery in the area. The dualization will cover 37.9 kilometers, linking Bonny Island to the mainland.

Additionally, the project will include the installation of solar lights and tree planting along the road to enhance its aesthetics. Umahi stated that the work is expected to be completed within eight months, with GRB Construct handling the rehabilitation and expansion work.

He emphasized the importance of public safety during the construction phase, particularly concerning heavy truck traffic. The project is set to be completed by the end of the year, with a focus on meeting all necessary standards.
