FG Approves Bodo-Bonny Road Expansion to East-West Road

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the expansion of the Bodo-Bonny Road to connect with the East-West Road, a major artery in the South-South region. Minister of Works, David Umahi, disclosed this during a project tour in the South-South on a weekend.

President Bola Tinubu ordered the dualization of the Bodo link to the East-West Road, which is crucial for enhancing transportation in the region. The project will also include the installation of solar lights and tree planting along the road, which spans 37.9 kilometers linking Bonny Island to the mainland.

The dualization is expected to be executed by GRB Construct, with a completion timeline of eight months. Umahi highlighted the need for public safety during the construction, particularly concerning heavy truck traffic.

He commended GRB Construct for handling the rehabilitation and expansion work, ensuring that it meets the required standards by the end of the year.
