Tinubu Approves Bodo-Bonny Road Dualization Project

On Wednesday, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the dualization of an 8.9-kilometer road connecting Bodo-Bonny to the East-West Road. This project is part of the next phase of development aimed at improving transportation in the Niger Delta.

The construction will involve concrete work, the installation of two flyovers, solar-powered streetlights, and a modern monitoring system. Umahi emphasized that the project, estimated to cost around 150 billion Naira, will be executed by Julius Berger and aims to be completed within twelve months without price reviews.

He highlighted the importance of durable infrastructure that will last decades and improve safety and economic activities in the region. The project is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Bodo and Bonny, enhancing commercial activities and safety for travelers, especially at night due to the planned solar lighting and CCTV monitoring.
