FG Promises Improved Security for Nigerians Abroad

During an interactive engagement with the Nigerian community in Angola, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), the Minister of Defence, assured Nigerians in the diaspora that the Federal Government is committed to strengthening national security. This event occurred on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Luanda, Angola.

The Nigerian delegation was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. General Musa emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and partner security agencies, addressing challenges stemming from regional instability in the Sahel.

He stated that comprehensive border management measures are being implemented to curb security threats. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, discussed enhanced data protection and identity management structures, while Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, assured support for the welfare of Nigerians abroad.
