Nigeria Reaffirms Diaspora Engagement at Toronto Conference

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing security and engaging the Nigerian diaspora as a crucial asset for national development. This statement was made by Amb Sola Enikanolaye, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, during the Nigerian Diaspora Economic Conference held in Toronto, Canada.

Enikanolaye acknowledged that security remains a significant challenge but assured that the current administration is making every effort to address these issues. He emphasized that under President Bola Tinubu's leadership, the government views Nigerians abroad not as burdens but as essential contributors to national progress.

Enikanolaye called for unity among Nigerians, urging them to overcome barriers of ethnicity, religion, and tribe to foster cooperation that promotes development. He also recognized the role of Canada and other partners in enhancing productive partnerships based on mutual respect.

The minister expressed gratitude to the conference organizers and the diaspora community for their contributions to Nigeria's development.
