FG Distributes Starter Packs to 18,510 Trained Artisans

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated the distribution of starter packs to 18,510 beneficiaries trained under the first batch of the Renewed Hope Vocational and Skills Training Programme, part of the National Social Investment Programme Agency. This initiative aims to equip participants with essential tools for starting their own businesses and achieving self-reliance.

The beneficiaries, selected from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, underwent two weeks of intensive vocational training at over 230 accredited centers nationwide. Dr Nsikak Okon, the National Programme Manager of N-POWER, announced the deployment of GPS technology and a dedicated monitoring system to track the beneficiaries and ensure proper utilization of the starter packs.

Each participant received N60,000 as a transport allowance during the training. The training covered various trades, including automobile technology, baking, carpentry, and fashion design, among others.

A call center has been established to assist beneficiaries with any challenges they encounter.
