FG Launches Reconstruction of Ado-Itawur Road in Ekiti

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated the reconstruction of the 56.18 km Ado-Itawur road, a significant route connecting Ekiti State to the Osun State border. The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Taiwo Olatunbosun, who stated that the contract has been awarded to CBC Global Civil Build Construct Nigeria Limited.

The project is scheduled to commence on March 23, 2026, with a completion timeline of 24 months. Olatunbosun emphasized that the road construction will enhance socio-economic growth in Ekiti State and improve transportation challenges, facilitating trade and commerce.

The project has already moved beyond the planning stage, with construction expected to begin around Erio Ekiti. Governor Biodun Oyebanji's administration is committed to sustainable development, and the project reflects the Federal Government's dedication to infrastructure improvement.

Olatunbosun also highlighted the importance of cooperation from road users and stakeholders during the construction period, ensuring safety measures are observed.
