FG Begins Rehabilitation of 13 Police Training Institutions

The federal government of Nigeria has commenced the rehabilitation of 13 police training institutions across the country, with contracts awarded for this initiative. The rehabilitation is expected to last three weeks and aims to prepare the institutions for the commencement of training programs by the Nigerian Police Force.

This update was presented on Thursday during the 160th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), which was chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima. During the meeting, Vice President Shettima urged the NEC to sustain ongoing reforms until economic improvements translate into job creation, enhanced purchasing power, increased business confidence, and better living conditions for Nigerians.

He stressed the importance of implementing policies beyond their announcement and highlighted that macroeconomic progress must benefit ordinary citizens. Additionally, the NEC endorsed the Revised National Social Protection Policy (NSPP: 2026 – 2030), which aims to strengthen social protection coordination and implementation across the federation.
