FG Launches Rehabilitation of 13 Police Training Schools

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced the rehabilitation of 13 police training institutions, a process expected to last three weeks, aimed at preparing these facilities for the upcoming training program by the Nigerian Police. This initiative was announced during the 160th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) held in Abuja, which was chaired by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima.

During the meeting, Shettima emphasized the importance of sustaining ongoing reforms until economic improvements translate into job creation, enhanced purchasing power, increased business confidence, and better living conditions for Nigerians. He also urged the NEC to maintain focus on existing programs and commitments, stressing that continuity is crucial for public confidence.

Additionally, the NEC endorsed the Revised National Social Protection Policy (NSPP: 2026 – 2030), which includes the establishment of a National Social Protection Council chaired by the Vice President, with various ministers and governors as members.
