Nigeria Celebrates Children's Day with Focus on Inclusion

On Children's Day, celebrated in Abuja, Nigeria, the Federal Government declared the theme "The Future Is Now," focusing on the inclusion, protection, and opportunities for every child. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child can grow safely and thrive without discrimination.

He stated that no child should feel invisible or forgotten, regardless of their location or social background. Tinubu reiterated the administration's dedication to listening to children's voices and placing their welfare at the center of government policies.

He highlighted various initiatives, including the 774 Nutrition Initiative and the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, aimed at improving child welfare and preparing young Nigerians for future opportunities. Barrister Nyesom Wike, representing the Federal Capital Territory, called for action to ensure equal opportunities for every child.

Jessica Nufi, a student, delivered a message urging leaders to provide access to free education and a safe environment for children.
