FG Distributes Free Fertilizers to 20,160 Farmers

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated a distribution of 80,640 bags of free fertilizers to 20,160 smallholder farmers in the South-West geopolitical zone. This program, managed by the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), aims to boost agricultural productivity and strengthen food security as part of the Federal Government's broader economic reforms under President Bola Tinubu.

Dr. Armstrong Um Takang, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, announced the program's launch in Ado Ekiti, emphasizing its alignment with the administration's commitment to food security and agricultural transformation.

Mr. Moham Abu Ibrahim, the Executive Secretary of NADF, described the initiative as a strategic intervention designed to lower production costs and ensure that support reaches genuine farmers.

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji noted that this timely intervention would significantly improve agricultural productivity in the region. The fertilizer distribution program is part of a larger effort to stabilize food prices and enhance crop yields.
