FG Donates N25m Anti-Snake Venom to Benue State

The Federal Government has donated 100 vials of Panaf Premium anti-snake venom, worth N25 million, to the Benue State Government. The presentation was made by Dr.

Paul Ogwuche, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, on Friday at the Benue State Ministry of Health and Human Services headquarters in Makurdi. This initiative reflects the proactive leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia and the commitment of the State Ministry to address critical health challenges through strategic partnerships.

The donation is part of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s efforts to mitigate illnesses and fatalities from snakebites nationwide. Dr.

Ogwuche praised Governor Alia for his dedication to improving healthcare delivery and acknowledged the support from Professor Aliu Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. The donation aims to alleviate the financial burden on families affected by snakebites and ensure timely treatment.

Dr. Cephas Hough, the Permanent Secretary, received the donation and emphasized the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments in tackling public health issues.
