FG and GIZ Strengthen Partnership for Housing Development

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) have reaffirmed their commitment to a partnership aimed at advancing housing and urban development across Nigeria. During a meeting, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Rabe Darma, emphasized the long-standing trust and collaborative efforts with GIZ, led by Dr. Karin Jansen.

The partnership focuses on addressing Nigeria's significant housing deficit, which leaves millions without adequate shelter. The government is determined to ensure that ordinary Nigerians have access to decent homes, aligning with its housing program vision.

The initiative is not merely about providing shelter but also restoring dignity, promoting social inclusion, and stimulating economic growth. The government has set a target to deliver 20,000 housing units annually, with 15,000 units already at various stages of completion across the country.
