Nigeria Launches Sub-Committees for 2026 ICSC

On May 20, 2026, the Federal Government of Nigeria inaugurated 10 sub-committees to facilitate the successful execution of the 2026 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) in Abuja. Didi Esther Walson Jack, the head of the civil service, described the inauguration ceremony as a strategic step towards delivering a world-class conference, building on the success of the inaugural event held in 2025.

The conference aims to reinforce Nigeria's position as a key player in global public service reform. Walson Jack urged stakeholders to maintain momentum and raise standards within the global public service community.

She emphasized that the civil service must adhere to enduring principles of reform and resilience. The performance of the sub-committees will directly influence the quality and impact of the event.

Members were charged to approach their assignments with discipline and a strong sense of national duty. Dr.

Ishiyaku Musa Moham, the Permanent Secretary of the Service Policy Strategy Office, noted that the 2026 ICSC will serve as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and peer learning.
